Angle on the crowd of students amongst the bleachers. Many of them erupt with cheers, arms outstretched in celebration. Several of these arms hold swords that suddenly appear in their hands. Ren looks out at the people around her and turns away from the commotion. Mayor Ruskin holds her head in her hands.

STUDENT #1: Hear that? Just try and beat me, everyone!

STUDENT #2: No way! I’m gonna win!

STUDENT #3: School’s out!

Panel 1

Angle on Ren, running with her back turned towards the entrance to the gymnasium. She looks panicked, yet determined. Caliburn floats above her, eyeing her with suspicion.

CALIBURN: Where are you going, Ren? 

CALIBURN: Now is the perfect time to show the other Conjurers your power!

REN: No, I’m leaving. I’m out. 

REN: Being a Conjurer has brought me enough trouble.

Ren turns the corner of the hallway and runs forward, pushing the exit doors of the school wide open with both arms. Light from outside spills in. Caliburn tails right behind Ren.

CALIBURN: Perhaps it could be that you’re making a more strategic play? Letting them finish each other off before-

An over-the-shoulder view of Ren and Caliburn looking out. Standing on the other end of the hallway are three bullies. BULLY #1, BULLY #2, and CELIA. CELIA stands with her hands on her hips. She is the leader. Bullies stand at either side of her, holding glowing swords and ready to attack.

CELIA: Where d’ya think you’re going, kid?
